1 Introduction & Acceptance
Welcome to Mint. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Mint mobile application, the mintapp.dating website, and related services (together, "Mint" or the "Service"), provided by the Mint team ("we", "us", or "our").
By creating an account, accessing, or using Mint, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Mint.
2 Eligibility & 18+ Requirement
Mint is intended exclusively for adults aged 18 or older. By using Mint, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 18 years of age;
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement;
- You are not barred from using the Service under the laws of your country or any applicable jurisdiction;
- You have never been convicted of, or are not required to register as a sex offender for, a serious crime where local law makes such use unlawful.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will remove it and delete the associated data. If you believe a minor is using Mint, please report it to support@mintapp.dating.
3 Your Account
To use most features of Mint, you create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information, and keep it up to date;
- Maintain only one personal, non-commercial account that belongs to you;
- Keep your login credentials secure and not share access with anyone;
- Take responsibility for all activity that happens under your account.
Authentication is handled through Firebase Auth and Google Sign-In. Mint does not store your password. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us promptly. You may not buy, sell, rent, or transfer your account to anyone else.
4 Dating Safety & Responsibility
Mint provides a platform to discover and message other people, but you are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, both online and in person.
We do not conduct criminal background checks or formal identity checks on users, beyond the optional photo verification described in Section 7. We cannot confirm that any user is who they claim to be.
We strongly encourage you to follow basic safety practices, including:
- Meet new people in public places, and tell a friend or family member where you are going;
- Never send money, financial information, or sensitive personal details to people you meet on Mint;
- Be cautious of anyone who pressures you, asks for money, or refuses to meet or video chat;
- Report suspicious or inappropriate behavior to us using the in-app reporting tools.
5 Acceptable Use
To keep Mint safe and respectful, you agree not to:
- Use Mint if you are under 18, or create an account on behalf of someone else;
- Harass, threaten, bully, stalk, defame, or intimidate other users;
- Post or share content that is hateful, discriminatory, violent, or sexually explicit where prohibited;
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity, age, or affiliation;
- Solicit money, engage in prostitution or human trafficking, or use Mint for any commercial or promotional purpose;
- Send spam, scams, phishing links, or repeated unwanted messages;
- Upload viruses or malicious code, or attempt to disrupt or compromise the Service;
- Scrape, harvest, or collect other users' information, or use bots or automated tools;
- Share other people's private information without their consent;
- Use Mint for any illegal activity or in violation of any applicable law;
- Circumvent, disable, or attempt to bypass any moderation, safety, or account-restriction measure.
Violating these rules may result in content removal, feature limits, suspension, or permanent termination of your account.
6 User Content & Photos
You keep ownership of the photos, text, and other content you add to Mint ("User Content"). You are responsible for the content you share and confirm that you have the right to share it.
By posting User Content, you grant Mint a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service — including storing and delivering media through our storage and content-delivery provider, and running automated safety checks. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to standard backup and delivery propagation delays.
You agree not to post content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have the rights to share. How your content and data are handled is described in our Privacy Policy. We may remove or restrict content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or puts users at risk.
7 Verification & Badges
Photo verification on Mint is optional. Members who choose to verify complete a quick selfie that is compared against their profile photos; once confirmed, they may receive a verified badge that other members can see.
8 Reporting, Moderation & Bans
You can report or block any user directly from their profile or your chat. We take reports seriously and review them using a combination of automated checks and human review by our team.
Where appropriate, we may remove content, limit access to certain features, suspend an account, or permanently ban a user who violates these Terms, abuses other members, or poses a safety or security risk. We may take these actions with or without prior notice, and we are not obligated to disclose the details of our moderation decisions.
9 Premium Features & Payments
Mint is currently free to use. From time to time we may offer optional premium features. Some premium features may be in testing or labeled as "coming soon," and may change, be delayed, or be withdrawn before a general release.
When paid features become available, additional payment terms — covering billing, automatic renewal, cancellation, and refunds handled through the relevant app store or payment provider — will apply and will be presented at that time.
10 Intellectual Property
Mint, including its name, logo, design, software, and content we provide (excluding User Content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws.
We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the Mint app for your own personal, non-commercial use, in line with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service except where permitted by law.
11 Third-Party Services
Mint relies on trusted third-party providers — such as Google Firebase / Google Cloud, Cloudflare R2, and Amazon Web Services — to operate the Service. Their handling of data is described in our Privacy Policy.
Mint may also contain links to third-party websites or services that we do not control. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site, and your use of them is at your own risk.
12 Suspension & Termination
You may stop using Mint and delete your account at any time from the app's Settings screen.
We may suspend or terminate your access to Mint, in whole or in part, if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for us or other users, or where required by law. When your account is terminated, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
13 Disclaimers
Mint is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that any defects will be corrected, that you will find a match, or that other users are who they claim to be. Any reliance you place on the Service or on other users is at your own risk.
14 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mint and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
We are not responsible for the conduct — whether online or offline — of any user of Mint. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
15 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the Effective Date at the top of this page;
- Notify you through the app or by email where required by law.
Your continued use of Mint after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, please stop using Mint and delete your account.
