1 How to Delete Your Account in the App
Account deletion is built into the Mint app. To delete your account:
- Open Mint and sign in to your account.
- Go to your Profile.
- Tap the Settings gear.
- Open Account and choose Delete Account.
- Follow the on-screen confirmation steps to confirm deletion.
2 What Deleting Your Account Removes
When you delete your account, Mint removes your personal account data from our active systems. This includes, where applicable:
- Your account profile — name, bio, interests, and profile details.
- Your photos and media uploaded to Mint, where applicable.
- Your matches, messages, and likes, along with private account data, where our backend currently removes them as part of the deletion process.
- Your sign-in (authentication) account, which is removed after the rest of your data has been cleaned up successfully.
Removal from active systems may be subject to standard backup and content-delivery propagation delays before it fully completes.
3 What May Be Retained
For safety, security, and legal reasons, a limited amount of information may be retained or kept in an anonymized form after your account is deleted. This may include:
- Reports and moderation records — including reports made by or about an account.
- Security and audit logs — records needed to protect the service and investigate abuse.
- Legal or safety records — information we are required to keep, or that we may retain, where necessary for safety, fraud prevention, abuse investigation, legal compliance, or the resolution of disputes.
Where we keep this kind of information, we retain only what is necessary and, where appropriate, anonymize it so it is no longer linked to your active profile.
4 Banned or Restricted Accounts
If an account has been banned, in-app deletion may be temporarily restricted to help preserve safety and evidence related to a violation or investigation.
If your account is banned and you would like to request deletion, or have questions about your account, please contact our support team and we will assist you in line with our safety and legal obligations:
